September is National Sewing Month. So here you go! New tutorial! Go sew. And go buy some fabric and zippers and such from my amazing sponsors over there. —> I’m breaking my no-raw edges rule again. Under protest. But these are just so easy and some of you are still afraid of zippers and I’m determined to fix that. I’m…

Tiny zippered pouch

Posted on June 21, 2012 by Erin Erickson | 17 Comments

I made this little pouch for my mom using the same technique as this one, except it’s tiny so I quilted it with super thin batting instead of using the thick two-sided fusible. It’s about 4.5″ x 3.5″. The fabric is Michael Miller TaDot, which worked out perfectly since I used the dots as a quilting guide! She’s using it for…

Ta Dot Pouch – Testing a new “batting alternative”

Posted on April 27, 2012 by Erin Erickson | 15 Comments

I made this yesterday, to replace a very old one that pretty much goes everywhere with me. I keep a pouch in my purse with my chapstick and hair elastics and all those little things that get lost in the bottom of my bag, that way when I switch purses I have fewer things to transfer.   I’ve been wanting…

Circle Zip Earbud Pouch Tutorial

Posted on November 7, 2011 by Erin Erickson | 523 Comments

I use a little zippered pouch to carry around my earbuds since they are the fancy microphone ones and I don’t want them to break or get tangled. Some of you have commented that you are looking for some small, simple gift ideas. This is definitely simple to make, and a little more fun than the typical rectangular zippered pouch!…

Pieced Strap Mini Tutorial

Posted on June 28, 2011 by Erin Erickson | 9 Comments

This is the strap technique I use on the Two Zip Hipster and my other cross-body bags. This style only needs one yard of main fabric, but to make the long strap would require two yards. I haven’t found webbing I’m in love with and I like the comfort level of fabric straps. I pieced the straps on this bag and this bag and…
