Hi! Since the last post was so rambly, I will make this quick!
First, the Outta Time Tote that was in One Thimble Magazine is now available via the DUMD PDF Pattern Shop. Yay! Refresh your memory about this fun tote or check it out for the first time if you’re a new follower by reading the blog post from February. I know a lot of you have made them so share your links below in the comments or in the Facebook group!
Thank you all for being so patient while we moved and so I can grow this tiny human. My sewing room is actually completely unpacked! There’s still a few boxes of fabric back at my parents’ house and I don’t have photo lights or an iMac yet, but I do have a baby Bernina (I try to pretend the walking foot is almost like having dual feed :P) and lots of fabric and interfacing so we should be able to crank out a few patterns here soon. The challenges haven’t been sewing, they have been finding time to sew after being so sick and exhausted that I got so far behind on everything else! 300 unread emails is not a fun thing, you just kind of sigh and close the laptop… but I should be able to pause my non-sewing to-do list in a few days so I can totally focus. Most of you should have received email replies by now so if you did not, please email again! I’ll post pics of the sewing room after I clean it up, because I have actually been sewing!!
Thank you!!!
Erin
Yay!!! And just for the record, the comment and post notifications are now working – hurray! :)
Thanks so much for putting in the times :) I bought 4, but still thinking about 1 or 2 more, I know, I know, I didn’t have them all yet :)
Thanks again! Glad to see you guys posting and keep on keeping on and getting to feel better :)
Yay! Thanks for the sale!!! I’ve been waiting for an excuse to try a new pattern. The outta time tote is fantastic – I’ve made 2 so far,…. so glad you’re doing better, hang in there it’ll be worth it in the end! Can’t wait to see what you come up with next
Congrats on the baby! Thanks for the sale. Hope you’re having fun in Oz. Looking forward to new designs but your most important job for now is getting lots of rest and eating right for your little one.
Is there a code for the sale.
The code is automatically applied at checkout. :)
………….multiple new posts AND a sale?? Yes, Virginia – there IS a Santa Claus!!!
Wahoooo……I’m so excited – even if I can only get one pattern at a great sale price (because I have all of the others!!) – it’s time to celebrate!! And the Outta Time Tote – I’ve made 6 (yes, SIX) of them at this point – the recipients are LOVING them…..rave reviews and lots of hints at wanting MORE. Also finally whipped out the 2 Zip Hipster bag (in the coolest Star Wars fabric!!!)……which BTW was the VERY first pattern I purchased oh so many years ago and after reading it, tucked it away safely due to huge amounts of fear & sewing intimidation. But now after making about a ton of Wristlets, Zip & Go bags, Totes……I said to myself, “Hey, I’ve got this now…..” and so I forged ahead and took that 2-Zip Hipster bag by the horns and wrestled it to the ground.
After reading testimony from Grandma G (from the now-retired How About Orange blog), I am so very grateful I was pointed in your general direction. With your cool patterns and hugely detailed instructions (with photos….thank you, thank you, thank you!!) – my love for sewing was rekindled. Now, I’m a sewing fool and not only am I enjoying myself – the recipients of my bag-gifting couldn’t be happier.
You’ve been instrumental in the chain-reaction of spreading Happiness……all I can say is THANKS heaps, tons & piles!!! Thanks Erin – you’re a Winner-Winner Chicken-Dinner in my books!!
Toodles….
I have to agree. Erin’s patterns are awesome, and I’ve learned so much about sewing by doing them! I’m now addicted to sewing and sew every chance I get! I, too, have given away the Outta Time Tote, and people love getting them! I’ve made six of them too! LOL. Her bags are great and all of them are useful! If you haven’t tried it yet make the Takeoff Tote. Love that one as well!
Oh Michelle, that’s the one pattern I didn’t have……until NOW!!! I’ll be working on this one after another tote (or two) and an already-requested 2-Zip Hipster. I’m sooooo excited!!
Kathy, you won’t be sorry! I made one for myself that I just love, and my sister requested one for her birthday. I already made that one and it looks gorgeous! I always think it’s all in the fabric. People have commented on my “Vera Bradley” bags even though they were just made by me:) The Takeoff Tote is so useful, and I love carrying it around!
Kathy – I pretty much could have written this. ;-)
I have most of your patterns, Erin, but I just purchased the Notepad Organizer pattern. I figured this would be a great one to try for birthday or Christmas gifts! Thanks so much for the sale!
The Notepads are my go-to gifts for men and those I need to make a lot for – like my daughter’s 12 classroom aides (yikes!) and bus drivers. They are super quick when you make a bunch at one time (if using the same thread). I add a pen loop with elastic just under the top of the inside right pocket. When they are school thank you gifts, I add a message with transfer fabric on the inside left pocket.
Congrats on your wedding and the baby….God bless the 3 of you!!!!!!!
What sewin interfacing did you use in the bingo OTT? Pellon 50 or one of the others recommended in the pattern. Thanks. Sue
I just purchased my first pattern PDF from you and cannot wait to start it. I love a challenge but does not look too difficult. I am from Cloquet, MN USA. I plan to purchase more as I go. Thank you for the smooth transaction.
