For those of you who’ve asked: You will need 2/3 yard for the exterior, 2/3 yard for the lining, 3 yards of woven fusible interfacing, a 18″ x 58″ package of foam batting like Soft and Stable or Bosal In-R-Form, and one 14″ or longer nylon long-pull purse zipper. I used a 16″ zip, and you can use a double-pull zip if you’d like! Watch my video to see how to make your own!

    • Me too! I get soooo frustrated when I use other people’s patterns (99% free – I pretty much don’t buy any other than Erin’s, though) or tutorials. There are never enough photographs, or the instructions are very confusing, or they leave out things like seam allowances, or trimming seams, whatever. Every time I want to cuss and say, “I wish this was Erin’s! :-)

  57. Woo hoo! I’m going to make this bag. For my daughter. I sent her the photos and she said ‘Perfect’. I have the sewing machine, just hope I have the skills to make such a ‘perfect’ bag. However, somewhere I read that your patterns are very detailed and there are videos.

    • Barbara – Erin’s patterns are so, SEW easy to follow and make. Not to say I don’t have to pick seams out now and then…but not her fault, mine for not reading correctly. ;-) I used to be afraid of zippers, but not now after making several of Erin’s patterns/tutorials!

    • Peggy, the same thing always happens to me! If I have a gift giving occasion, I send the Erin’s pattern page to the person and tell them to take their pick and give me fabric ideas. I don’t even send them elsewhere since I have no guarantee of success!

      Instead of Erin’s “No, I won’t hem your pants!” shirt/sticker, I need one that reads, “No, I will not make anything unless Erin is the designer!’ LOL
